🔐Stake GOLDAO Tokens

This page describes how to stake GOLDAO tokens to participate in the Gold DAO SNS governance.

There are two main steps

1. Obtain GOLDAO tokens

2. Stake GOLDAO tokens

1. Obtain GOLDAO tokens

There are different ways to obtain GOLDAO tokens and if you didn't receive any from anyone you know, you will most likely have to purchase some on a DEX. The most liquid DEXs for GOLDAO tokens are the GOLDAO/ICP pairs on

• KongSwap

  • KongSwap allows you to purchase ICP tokens with fiat, so this could be the easiest entrypoint if you don't own any ICP tokens yet.

• ICPSwap

You need to stake at least 100 GOLDAO tokens to participate in governance. Make sure to purchase at least this amount, including some transfer fees to cover those.

2. Stake GOLDAO tokens

The easiest way to stake GOLDAO tokens at this point in time is via the NNS dApp. You need an Internet Identity to login there.

The process is as follows

1. Login to the NNS dApp using your Internet Identity.

2. Send your GOLDAO tokens from the DEX to your principal on the NNS dApp

   1. Navigate to "Tokens" -> "Gold DAO" and copy your Principal ID on the top right

      
   2. Send GOLDAO tokens from the DEX to your copied Principal ID. You should see them in your balance after a few seconds.

3. Stake your GOLDAO tokens

   1. Navigate to "Neuron Staking" and click on "Stake GOLDAO"

      
   2. Follow the steps by entering your amount and confirming the modal.

   3. After the neuron has been created, click on it to manage it.

      
   4. (1) Set the dissolve delay to at least 3 months (91.32 days) in order to be eligible to participate in the governance.

   5. (2) Set the voting delegation to follow any preferred neuron if you are not planning to vote yourself on proposals. The main contributing team neuron has the ID 7eac04f2e207c04b8a7ac01b7505c715821ebbd7bc9815cef0a6842514f3b832 (link) if you want to follow the contributing team on any voting decisions.

Only actively voting neurons will be receiving GOLDAO governance rewards. Make sure to either vote on ongoing proposals yourself or delegate your vote to another neuron.
